SOCIAL AWARENESS

After several years of the usual philanthropic activity, offering different kinds of social support, helping aid organizations in charge of different types of social work and focused at different types of beneficiaries, the company decided to identify and focus only in one line of social support, through which the company now channels all our resources that is annually dedicated  for corporate social development.

Since nobody can excel in everything nor be good to everyone, a segment of specialization was identified; in this way, significant contributions with remarkable social impact could be made. This is a segment in which the support may be sustainable in the long run, a segment that allows for social development and where, at the same time, the company may maintain its business model of generating value to the client making profitable business.

The identified and chosen segment was one in which the company could involve social actors within the process of value generation, within the concept of: “not just give them a fish, but rather, teach them how to fish for themselves, and then be the first and probably the main buyer of their fishing”

It is possible to observe the huge impact of creating competitive income generation mechanisms in society, and especially when these are sustainable in the long run. Zaimella is convinced that this model offers more opportunities than charity., It offers people the desire to grow rather than just receiving donations, it offers long term support rather than eventual help, it develops people's self-esteem rather than gratefulness and dependence on a donations; the same that easily disappears when markets shrink or the economic situation of a country or a company gets tight. This is a model of interdependence rather than one of dependence.

Some examples of situations in which the company found mechanisms to do things right, doing good deeds in a sustainable manner.

A) Sustainable because it has found an extraordinary way to improve the quality of its diapers in a permanent and stable manner.

B) Sustainable because it has found a new and effective way to position its products brands.

C) Sustainable because it has found a new and effective way to make the diaper category grow countrywide and position its products in the informal market.
